“At my age I feel stuck between adolescence and adulthood, without a true identity. It’s like a limbo.
Things change and this scares me as much as it excites me. Maybe every teenager suffers from this – you want the good stuff about being an adult but not the drawbacks, the awareness of complicated matters. For instance, as a kid you aren’t really aware of death. Maybe a pet or a relative dies and you think about it, but it’s only for that moment and you don’t realize right away that it could happen to you. It wasn’t until very recently that I began thinking of my own death – that tomorrow I could get struck by lightning, who knows. This awareness is one of the things that makes me feel like I’m entering adulthood. It sounds kind of sad but I suppose it’s normal.”
